Our Story

Flannel and Floral is made up of Shannon and Megan Brantley.  We are a husband and wife team living and working in Brewton, Alabama.  We both are artists and love creating with wood and other various mediums.  God has blessed us with two girls, June and Emmylou.  Our business was born as a triumph over a tragedy.  Years ago, we were struggling with unexplained infertility, and in the midst of years of struggle, suffered a miscarriage.  Megan decided to try carving spoons to get her mind in a better place.  Shannon had already been dabbling in woodworking so he supported the desire by providing tools.  That Christmas we gave all of our family and friends the wooden goods we had made, and our sister-in-law inspired us to get a website and become an actual business.  We spent a few years traveling around the south to festivals and maker markets and have met some incredible people.  God has had his hand on every step of this journey.  Shannon began a job at a local cabinet shop, which led to him starting his own and now we have a building with so many future plans.  Many times I retrace the steps of how all of this happened and none of it was coincidence.
